This Black Velvet Plain Albert slipper on our K last features a black leather lining and rubber sole. They are hand cut from a single pattern of decadent plush velvet.
Albert slippers are made with a traditional square tongue, ideally suited as tuxedo shoes or smoking slippers.
Handmade in Norwich since 1874, our English slippers are still manufactured using time honoured shoemaking practices such as clicking, turning and lasting all by hand.
Bowhill & Elliott have long been considered the home of house shoes.
Named after Queen Victoria’s consort, Prince Albert (who famously commissioned them to wear inside their many royal residences), Albert slippers today are loved by men and women alike, with all our styles unisex and available to order on two different last shapes.
With no added embroidery or embellishments our signature velvet Albert slippers are Plain in name only. Available in nine sumptuous colours, our quality velvet is the ideal material to make luxury slippers for understated elegance.
